Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to enhance patient safety and minimize adverse events within the healthcare setting. This position involves collaborating with various departments to develop and implement risk management strategies and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions
-Lead the identification and assessment of potential risks within the hospital, including clinical, operational, and environmental factors.
-Conduct Root Cause Analysis investigations for significant adverse events or near misses.
-Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
-Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and enhance patient safety.
-Collaborate with legal and insurance teams to manage and monitor the progress of insurance claims and litigation related to patient safety incidents.
-Provide education and training to hospital staff on risk management principles, incident reporting, and patient safety.
-Collaborate with emergency preparedness teams to assess and mitigate risks related to disaster and emergency situations.


 

Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Experience Experience in healthcare risk management, with a focus on leadership and strategic planning 3-5 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and risk management principles. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
