CMC are hiring! We have a newly created opportunity for a Compliance & Operational Risk Manager to join our Singapore office on a full time permanent basis. Please note this role will be based onsite 5 days per week.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of the Compliance and Operational Risk team for the Singapore Office, the Compliance & Risk Manager has a pivotal role in driving compliance & risk initiatives across the SG business. This involves supporting the sustainability of CMC Markets Singapore while promoting and protecting the reputation, assets, and effectiveness of the business through the outstanding delivery of compliance and risk services and advice. The role involves regularly undertaking compliance and operational risk tasks, reviewing policies and procedures, and reporting to various regulators. This role is crucial to the continued improvement of compliance and operational risk systems for all areas of CMC Markets Singapore, ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements in the process. The Compliance and Ops Risk Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Company operates in a legal and ethical manner by adhering to all relevant laws and regulations, will have a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and be able to develop and implement compliance programs to ensure that the Company meets all necessary requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out and support the ongoing development of the risk-based monitoring program, conducting periodical monitoring and reviews of the CFD operations.
  • Support the daily management of the Compliance, and Operational Risk team including maintaining various registers, policies and procedures and ensuring ongoing compliance with external regulation, market practices and industry codes.
  • Resolve compliance & risk issues as they arise, ensuring incidents and breaches are recorded in a centralised incident register.
  • Investigate any potential compliance violations and procedures to ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Train employees on compliance policies and procedures to ensure understanding and adherence.
  • Continually provide input in the development of compliance & risk programs for all areas of CMC Markets Singapore including maintaining a business continuity plan and conducting due diligence on outsourcing.
  • Provide exceptional service to the business in the provision of compliance and operational risk advice.
  • Prepare and provide regular and ad-hoc compliance & operational risk reporting.
  • Responsible for the timely provision of information to regulators and law enforcement agencies, including periodic returns and ad-hoc information requested (including in relation to regulatory audits) by regulatory bodies, e.g. MAS, CAD, Police and PDPC.
  • Provide support and advice in the implementation of compliance & operational risk related projects.
  • Conduct periodical Operational Risk Assessments on the Singapore business units.
  • Liaise with internal legal as required in ensuring all terms and conditions are up to date, while meeting regulatory requirements, product specifications and business requirements.
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, constantly updating knowledge of market developments and changes to regulatory requirements.
  • Represent CMC Markets in a highly professional manner in any internal and external meetings.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of MAS regulation and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
  • Organised and self-motivated working style
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications

Desirable:

  • Relevant compliance, legal or other relevant qualification; and
  • Experience in a compliance and/or risk role.
