Job Title: Principal Software Engineer

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park

Business & Team: Chief Technology Office (CTO) - IT Service Management & Operations.

Impact & Contribution: The Service Management Modernisation Program (SMM) is a pivotal transformation to achieve the target state DevSecOps vision.
This newly formed squad will start working together at with a new Product Owner who can balance effort and complexity across a list of improvements you will be involved with engineers in Business units to creatively solve their problems and pan points.
    
Roles & Responsibilities:

• Role Model, lead and champion strategic practice development across the enterprise.
• Utilise expertise in core business and technical strategies across platforms to deliver best business outcomes.
• Design and implement simple solutions to complex problems, including retiring and removing obsolete systems and code.
• Lead strategic programs of work.
• Identify, gain support for, and ensure execution of strategic direction.
• Take ownership of key assets and platforms, setting their roadmaps and technical direction.
• Provide expert consultancy across the enterprise.
• Provide strategic and technical ownership of a product or realm.
• Drive business unit critical initiatives and owns technical solution end to end.
• Develop and implement domain specific technology roadmap.
• Provide SME expertise in internal online discussions around software engineering, delivery and technology (for example blog posts and knowledge base articles).
• Lead and direct multiple teams on complex troubleshooting activity.

 
Essential Tech Skills:

• 16+ Years of experience in relevant filed.
• Demonstrated experience with building complex solution design and implementation at enterprise level.
• Expert level knowledge in AWS architecture and data structures
• Extensive knowledge and experience in application development and design and mentoring others. Working Agile
• Strong AWS knowledge and data structures
• Should include ServiceNow experience
• Full cycle developer who enjoys the challenge and satisfaction of writing elegant and efficient code in an Agile environment practicing daily Scrum ceremonies
• Experience with Go, JavaScript (React/Node), TypeScript, Python, ReactJS, SQL, AWS, RESTful APIs
• Passion for continually improving the processes for CBA engineers and knowledge of micro services architecture and RESTful APIs 
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow and Container technology, Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
• Source control and CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Artifactory, Monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Qualys, Graphana and Splunk
• Full SDLC and modern software engineering practices such as Trunk development, Unit Testing, Pact Testing, Pen testing and TDD

 
Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
