Job Description Summary

The MEA Finance Leader for the Grid Systems Integration (GSI) BL within Electrification Systems of GE Vernova will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations, strategic financial planning, and ensuring financial compliance for the rapidly growing region. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of financial management, business and commercial strategy, and the ability to drive growth and profitability.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement regional financial strategies aligned with the global GSI business objectives.
  • Prepare and manage regional budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to drive business decisions.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee all financial operations within the region, including accounting, financial reporting, and commercial finance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with local and international GAAP.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital to optimize financial performance.

Business Partnership:

  • Collaborate with regional business leaders to provide financial guidance and support for strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a business partner to drive operational efficiency and cost management.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support business decisions.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks within the region.
  • Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the regional finance team.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top finance talent.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regional business units, global finance team, and external partners.
  • Represent the finance function in regional leadership meetings and discussions.

Business Development

  • Strategic Partnership: Actively partner with the corporate team to vet business opportunities, lending specific business-unit insights to refine deal models and improve decision quality.
  • Deep-Dive Due Diligence: Partner with the corporate team to execute financial due diligence, identifying operational risks and validating assumptions through a business-specific lens.
  • Accounting & Consolidation: Partner with controllership to evaluate accounting impacts and consolidation requirements early in the deal lifecycle, ensuring full compliance, structural accuracy, and reporting readiness.
  • Integration Mobilization: Lead the pre-acquisition financial integration planning, ensuring the business is ready to capture value immediately upon closing.
  • Standard Work Development: Partner with ELEC and GEV BD teams to develop and refine business development standard work, specifically focusing on the pre-signature stage and ensuring lessons learned are captured and applied across future deals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role.
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., ERP systems, financial modeling).

Desired Characteristics

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in a multinational corporation with regional responsibilities is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in the GSI or related industry is a plus
