Functional (job responsibilities)

  • Provide coaching and direction to RMT in Initiating, planning, executing regional sales strategies and action plans to increase sales, product holding & cross-selling, and revenue growth in all Bank’s products;
  • Manage overall financial performance of the region; creating and administering capital and expense budgets; To plan and strategize on marketing activities to enhance existing portfolios whilst acquiring new-to-bank clients for loans and deposit growth at region, including cross sell of PFS, investment & insurance products;
  • Identify regional and community sales opportunities together with product owners and Senior Regional Head to initiate appropriate product, especially in relation to BCB Growth and cross selling;
  • Campaigns and Community Events for implementation at CMB Centers;
  • Ensure BCB business strategies and sales performance are constantly aligned to the Bank’s and CBOM’s business directions;
  • Provide support to Senior Regional Head, Community Development Head and Regional Business Development Head in establishing Community Presence and increase HLB Brand awareness to grow New to Business and New to Bank Customers;
  • Constantly review product budgets and set KRAs for the CMB Centers to ensure they correspond with regional BCB market potential;
  • Provide guidance, motivation, oversee the management and ensure broad business exposure of CMB Center Heads to ensure continuous career development, compliance, team work and consistency in service quality;
  • Motivate and build a strong teamwork among staff towards an unify and integrated regional sales and service organization;
  • Increase and retain bench strength;
  • Periodical review of regional AAM results against target to identify gap, to devise further actions to narrow the gap;
  • To establish closer rapport with existing business banking clients with the goal of increasing utilization of banking facilities and improving profitability;
  • Actively monitor Pre-NPL / Watch list / High-Risk accounts with the aim of regularizing the account conduct through restructuring / rescheduling of banking facilities or exiting the relationship to prevent / minimize potential loses;
  • To check through the credit applications proposals and credit requests prepared by ARMs/AROs prior to submission to Senior Regional Head and CED in the absence of CMB Center Heads;
  • To ensure ARMs/AROs are prompt in submitting credit applications reviews to minimize delinquency of accounts;
  • To ensure timely submission of various periodic reports to Head Office (e.g. monthly :business centre’s performance, marketing calls / new prospects, overdue CA, high risk accounts, star clients’ utilization, Service Quality Index (SQI), Key Result Area (KRA) Performance; quarterly : Watch List Report).

Managerial (team/group responsibilities)

  • Lead, motivate and develop the CMB Center Heads within the region to work towards achieving their respective KRA, including broad business exposure and in actively marketing for new business clients through referrals (from customers / panel solicitors / branches) and selective cold calls to achieve loans and deposit growth as per KRA requirement;
  • Plan, strategize and spearhead all CMB sales and marketing programmes / activities to increase HLB Brand awareness, increase Community Presence and expand the business within the region;   
  • Assist Senior Regional Head to identify business and community potential for BCB within the region.
  • Identify and provide recommendation on reward and recognition for all CMB Center personnel;
  • In charge of capability building/ training / guidance to staff and ensure staff in CMB Centers are adequately trained in their area of work;
  • Relieving Manager, Trade Finance Centre during his / her absence or as and when required in authorizing trade transactions > RM300k;
  • Relieving Manager, Credit Administration during her absence or as and when required in authorizing OD / TL / Trade limits in the loan system for business centre accounts and to execute relevant charge / security documents (Power of Attorney holder for conventional loans under HLB and Islamic Banking Loans under HLISB).

Organizational (organizational responsibilities)

  • To maintain close working relationship with related companies within Hong Leong Financial Services Group (i.e. BIB Bradstock Insurance Brokers Bhd, Hong Leong Assurance Bhd, HLG Securities Sdn Bhd and Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd) to capture more ancillary business from existing / new business banking clients and its directors / stakeholders;
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by the Management.

Education/Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in any discipline;
  • Certified Credit Professional/Professional Credit Certification

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in banking of which 8 years in marketing for Corporate, Commercial or SME loans;
  • Experience in banking with strong Credit and Marketing skillsets;
  • Knowledge in financial analysis, business and industry knowledge, market intelligent, effective communication, credit skill, negotiation, supervisory and managerial skills.
