About the Role
As the Melanoma and Complex Skin Cancer Nurse Coordinator (CNC) you will support continuity and quality care for patients diagnosed with a melanoma and other skin cancers through orientation, navigation and information provision.

You would be working closely with the surgical, oncology and complex skin units, will support multidisciplinary care and facilitate accurate and timely communication between team members and other professionals including GP’s and community services.

  • Cancer patients receive optimal treatment without unnecessary delays or gaps in service provision.

  • Ensure a high standard of evidence-based nursing care for patients and their families

  • Effective tumour stream referral process that enhances communication between the patient, the health service and the general practitioner

  • Work with the individual units to develop meeting referral guidelines

  • Actively manage cancer patients’ progression through the system to ensure equitable access to care within desired timeframes

  • Be the central liaison point between the members of the multidisciplinary cancer team and the primary surgical and medical units to promote service efficiency.


Classifications for this position will be YW17 ($113,359.998 per annum pro rata).

Your Contribution

  • Registered Nurse Division 1

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Post graduate qualification in Oncology Nursing, Advanced nursing or related field

  • Minimum 4 years of experience at a senior level

  • Previous experience as a Cancer Nurse Coordinator and /or melanoma and complex skin cancer Nursing

  • Evidence of clinical practice in the area of either melanoma and skin cancer  nursng or cancer care

  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Cancer Services

Cancer Services at St. Vincent’s Hospital is provided across a broad range of inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient settings. Cancer Services includes Medical Oncology, Clinical Haematology, Psychosocial Cancer Care, Palliative Care, inpatient acute care, chemotherapy day unit, apheresis, specialist clinics, and clinical research.

Cancer Services are responsible for the management of multidisciplinary tumor stream meetings and service development and is  located in the the start of the art purpose build Cancer Centre.
