Job Summary:


Under the supervision of an Audiologist, the Audiology Extern will be responsible for diagnostic testing, AABR, OAE,
cochlear implant evaluations/programming, BAHA evaluations/programming, hearing aid evaluations/fitting/follow ups,
ABR (sedated and non-sedated), VNG testing, hearing aid walk-in clinic, and any other testing and/or procedures as
indicated by the Audiologists.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Performs diagnostic testing on pediatrics and/or adults.

Proficient in hearing aid evaluations, programming, and checks.
Assists within cochlear implant and BAHA evaluations, activations, and follow ups.
Performs automated ABR (AABR) and ABR (sedated and non-sedated) testing with the assistance of the
Audiologist when needed.
Demonstrates advanced problem solving skills in regards to equipment/order processing and making
appropriate suggestions for follow up with Audiologists.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

  • Bachelors Other

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:


    Must be actively enrolled in and have
    successfully completed at least 2 years in Graduate Audiology
    Doctoral Program. Required and

    Required Minimum Skills:


    Capability to perform diagnostic audiological evaluations.
    Basic knowledge of hearing aids.
    Excellent interpersonal skills.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    BAHA evaluation/activation/follow ups preferred
    Cochlear implant evaluation/activation/follow ups preferred
    Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing preferred
