The School of Dentistry are seeking to appoint an experienced Specialist Periodontist to grow their profile in clinical teaching, clinical research and service and engagement.
Key responsibilities will include:
Teaching: Clinical teaching, course coordination, preparing and delivering lectures, assessing students, contributing to innovative curriculum design, providing academic counselling, and adhering to university teaching rules.
Research: Maintaining an active record of research outputs, participating in applications for research funding as chief investigator, contributing to transfer of knowledge, and utilising best practice research methodologies.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Supervising HDR students as well as students enrolled in advanced or speciality training programs, developing researcher capability, facilitating engagement opportunities for supervisees, managing employees and resolving any conflicts as they arise.
Citizenship and Service: Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.
This is a part-time (20%), continuing position at Academic Level C. The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of $140,293 - $161,518 + 17% superannuation.
Completion of an advanced professional qualification and/or a PhD in Periodontics.
An established profile in clinical teaching and/or clinical research in Periodontics.
Expert industry knowledge and extensive experience in a general or specialist capacity, including evidence of dissemination of new and innovative clinical techniques.
A record of peer reviewed publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences, in conjunction with evidence of contribution towards successful applications for external research funding.
Evidence of a substantial senior contribution to quality clinical teaching at undergraduate postgraduate and/or professional entry level.
A strong track record of course coordination and participation in the development and continuous innovation of new programs, curriculum design and course material in the discipline area.
A solid record of the contribution to the supervision of students in advanced or speciality training programs.
A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with demonstrated leadership roles in external activities that foster links within the profession and the relevant specialty, including developing consultancies in speciality areas.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including the right to work in Australia, education check, and AHPRA registration.
