Key performance areas

The role of the Workshop Manager is to supervise the activities of the teams in the workshop, maintaining work in progress and perform hands on tasks when required while overseeing employees working within this area to ensure maximum levels of productivity to meet required deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The Workshop Manager will also be responsible for customers by actively supporting Sandvik Equipment’s working with the team to improve availability of machines and performance with a focus on Reliability centered maintenance practice. Active promotion of Sandvik service, original spare parts, maintenance contracts, etc. In this position you will report to Site Manager & will be based in SK Mines Rajasthan.

Additional Responsibilities:

1.Workshop, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition. Systems of work, which encompass Personnel Safety and Environmental diligence, are implemented using all relevant Sandvik procedures, Work Instructions and Risk Assessment methods as appropriate. All employees receive adequate instruction, training and Supervision to enable them to work safely. Work shop Safety is managed using communication and consultation.

2. General workshop monitoring

3. Handle customer service support activities including major overhauls, repairs and maintenance

3. Provide technical training to engineers and technicians

4. Assist in problem solving, trouble shooting and root cause analysis

5. Plan preventive and schedule maintenance

6. Analyze major failures and suggest improvements in the product to the concerned stakeholders

7. Planning manpower allocation to reduce breakdown time and to ensure availability of equipment to customer

8. Parts planning and inventory management for LOHA.

9. MIS reporting at regular intervals to internal stakeholders

10. Analyze, identify and propose training needs for technical team

Your profile

You possess a Bachelor’s/Diploma in engineering with 7-12 years practical experience in handling workshop activities, maintenance and service of LOHA, trouble shooting and root cause analysis. You will need an extremely strong safety management culture with proven team leadership skills.
