Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Responsibilities:

AWS Cloud Platform Engineering & Architecture

  • Design, engineer, and deliver advanced AWS cloud platforms and infrastructure features, enabling application development teams to build cloud-native applications
  • Implement AWS Organizations and AWS Control Tower for effective multi-account management and governance
  • Design and implement robust AWS networking architectures including VPCs, Transit Gateways, and PrivateLink
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using AWS CDK, Terraform, and CloudFormation

AWS Security Implementation

  • Implement AWS security best practices, including IAM policies, SCPs, and security controls
  • Design and deploy security architectures following AWS Well-Architected Framework principles
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and implement appropriate controls across AWS environments
  • Configure and manage AWS security services (GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, WAF)

AWS Infrastructure and Operations

  • Provide integrations between on-premises data centers and AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments using AWS CodePipeline/CodeBuild
  • Develop and manage AWS resource templates, AMIs, and infrastructure artifacts
  • Implement cost optimization strategies and resource tagging for effective AWS billing management
  • Monitor operational health using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and other monitoring tools

Cloud Automation and Development

  • Develop robust automation scripts using Python and Linux shell scripting
  • Implement AWS CDK for infrastructure as code implementations
  • Create self-service capabilities for application teams via AWS Service Catalog
  • Automate operational processes to ensure high availability, scalability, and self-healing systems
  • Develop and maintain documentation for AWS architectures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and engineering AWS cloud solutions for enterprise environments
  • Strong expertise in AWS Organizations and Control Tower setup and management
  • Demonstrable experience with AWS networking services (VPC, CloudWAN, Route 53)
  • Proficiency in AWS security services and implementation of AWS security best practices
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code tools, particularly AWS CDK
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python and Linux shell scripting
  • Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments
  • AWS Associate certification (or higher) preferred
  • Experience with containerization technologies, especially Amazon EKS/ECS
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Experience working with project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or ServiceNow
  • Ability to work independently with onshore/offshore stakeholders
  • Experience integrating AWS cloud with third-party software, other SaaS services, and on-premises applications
