Cement decarbonization is at the core of this mission. We are looking for a talented and motivated hands-on contributor with demonstrated expertise in cement and concrete mixing, evaluation and characterization.

The Cement Technician II at Lyten will play a critical role in the development of high-performance decarbonized cement and concrete. They will ensure that the processes are performed precisely and reproducibly, and that equipment operates reliably and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilize background in cement and / or concrete materials mixing, testing and formulation for the development of decarbonized cement and concrete.
  • Perform and support the formation of cement and concrete structures including mixing, molding, testing and inspection throughout the process
  • Modify and enhance the rheology and stability of cement with admixtures.
  • Conduct advanced testing on concrete structures
  • Documentation: Maintain records of all activities, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date
  • Safety: Ensure that all necessary PPE are always worn, and that the work areas are clean and organized at end of the workday
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest best practices, tools, and technologies of the trade
  • Recommendations: Provide observations made during the workflow and suggest improvements to the process
  • Work independently, as well as with other team members within a laboratory setting.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience in a lab or manufacturing environment OR a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering.
  • Candidate must have experience in the cement or concrete industry.
  • Experience with ASTM testing of cement and concrete
  • Familiarity with admixtures and cement formulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong work ethic.
  • Problem solving, time management, and organization skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and safety conscious.
  • Team player.

Physical requirements:

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • This role will require long periods of standing in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, lab coats, safety glasses, safety goggles, and respirators as required.

Compensations Range:

The expected base salary range for this position is between

$38.32 - $57.45

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer.  The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.

In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
