About the Role & Team 

The Stage Manager is a leadership position that is responsible for day-to-day management of Cast/frontline employees in Theme Park Operations departments such as: Attractions, Custodial, Food & Beverage, Guest Relations, Main Entrance, Retail, and Resort Transportation & Parking. In this role, you will ensure safe and efficient daily operations, drive a positive Guest experience, increase Cast engagement, and safeguard our brand. This role strives to improve Guest service standards, recognizes/coaches Cast behaviors, and manages the business through Key Business Drivers.

What You Will Do: 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence and working in the operation daily, including interacting with both Guests and Cast Members, and resolving any issues. 

  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong Cast focus to inspire, engage, coach, and develop a diverse and talented team. 

  • Recognize Cast Members and hold them accountable for delivering excellence in Safety, Courtesy, Show, Inclusion and Efficiency. 

  • Be a teacher and developer, take a sincere interest in the Cast and be vested in their success. 

  • Demonstrate care for Cast, support their Cast Life experience, and demonstrate care for Guests. 

  • Exceed Guest expectations that yield affirmative results and positive Guest feedback. 

  • Demonstrate passion and commitment to diversity & inclusion, including inviting diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity. 

  • Partner closely and collaborate with other leadership teams that share a common Cast base. 

  • Participate in departmental meetings and communicate relevant information to Cast Members. 

  • Make balanced day-to-day operational decisions that benefit Guests, Cast Members, and the current demands of the business. 

  • Drive and deliver daily results by monitoring daily staffing levels and anticipating shift coverage needs based on demand. 

  • Support local projects and monitor any potential impacts to both the Guest and Cast experience.

Required Qualifications & Skills: 

  • At least one year of leadership or managerial experience, demonstrating professionalism and maturity in an hourly or salaried leadership role. 

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making. 

  • Proven ability to lead effectively in a team environment, hold self & others accountable, and work effectively with conflict through strong partnering and networking skills. 

  • Demonstrated operational Guest service experience and Guest service training skills. 

  • Demonstrated strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills with an attention to detail. 

  • Proficient in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Windows-based environment and adaptable to new technology. 

  • Able to analyze and understand the impact of financial reporting and decisions in a fast-paced operation, such as operating budgets, labor & revenue targets, inventory systems, operation costs, etc.  

  • Ability to provide ongoing flexibility with work schedule, including days off, day/night shift times, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Operations experience in any Disney Park operations line of business or similar operational roles (at the Disneyland Resort, other Theme Parks, or outside the Theme Park industry). 

  • Experience at the Disneyland Resort in an entertainment role (e.g., assistant stage manager, character, parade performer, shows & atmosphere performer, musician, etc.) or other experience in the entertainment industry (e.g., show calling experience or other theatrical experience). 

  • Prior experience leading in a union environment. 

  • Bilingual skills. 

Preferred Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in operations, entertainment or related field

The hiring range for this position in California is $70,000.00-$87,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
