Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist performs drug evaluation functions to support the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee’s review of therapeutic alternatives and maintenance of the Surescripts Therapeutic Alternatives System. This role conducts evidence-based drug evaluations for presentation to the P&T Committee. Upon P&T approval, the Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with internal partners to ensure data elements that characterize each drug product are accurately represented in P&T Decision Grids. Additionally, the Clinical Pharmacist collaborates with the Clinical Operations Pharmacist in conducting regular clinical maintenance of Therapeutic Alternatives System data elements.

Responsibilities:

  • Write evidence-based drug evaluations (monographs and presentations) for presentation to P&T Committee.
  • Assist in creating executive P&T Committee presentations.
  • Participate in large virtual and/or in-person meetings.
  • Regularly communicate project status updates to internal stakeholders via dashboards and presentations.
  • Perform periodic clinical maintenance of Therapeutics Alternatives System, with respect to data elements for therapeutic alternative drug pairs.
  • Identify process improvements for clinical evaluation of therapeutic alternatives and recommend changes when needed.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and drug information specialist to other departments

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • PharmD or RPH
  • 8+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
  • 8+ years of experience in the retail pharmacy, hospital, or health information
  • technology industry
  • Advanced knowledge using advanced functions in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Experience presenting complex clinical material to advanced health care providers

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $140,050 - $171,150 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
