POSITION OVERVIEW
The Assistant Vice-President, Field Marketing and Partnerships will lead the development and execution of regional marketing strategies and partnerships initiatives supporting the business objectives.
This national scope role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in marketing, partnerships, and financial services. The Leader will oversee a diverse team, including field marketing managers, partnerships managers, and a team of operational support. This leadership position requires excellent team leadership skills, the ability to foster a collaborative environment, and a strong focus on achieving business goals.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Lead and oversee the development of regional marketing strategies that align with overall business goals and drive growth in key markets.
Act as the central hub for all partnership activities ensuring effective management and alignment with BDC’s objectives. Ensure the internal partnership ecosystem is governed by a common and cohesive approach.
Use market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape to inform marketing and partnerships strategies.
Demonstrate and leverage a strong understanding of the regional market dynamics and business context, measuring and sharing results with stakeholders regularly, and proactively adjusting course as required.
Oversee the implementation of marketing and partnerships initiatives to increase regional brand visibility and market presence, driving to lead generation, client acquisition, and retention.
Maintain a comprehensive view of all partners, providing a holistic perspective on activities and engagements.
Oversee the optimization of the complete marketing mix (social media, sponsorship, events, email marketing, etc.) to support regional priorities, and work closely with internal experts to effectively implement go-to-market and field activation strategies.
Connect and bring partners together to maximize collective impact on SMEs, encourage alignment between BDC and partner offerings, and drive outreach and thought leadership initiatives to promote BDC’s mandate.
Oversee the development and negotiation of effective partnership agreements including KPIs and terms of collaboration. Set benchmarks for success and accurately report partners’ impact on a quarterly basis.
Lead and mentor a team of seasoned professionals fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance reviews to ensure team members are meeting their goals and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and partnerships, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
Accountable for achieving team performance, engagement and results of the Field Marketing team and the Partnerships team.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing/communications and partnerships, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Bachelor degree in marketing, business administration or a related field.
Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills
Experience working with all marketing mix elements, including events, sponsorships, partnerships, digital and social media.
Strategic acumen to transform business objectives and challenges into regional plans including strong marketing and communications acumen across channels.
Ability to lead with influence, quickly gain credibility with stakeholders, and foster cross-functional relationships.
Results-oriented, innovative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to analyze market and performance data, to drive adequate insight and identify initiatives to optimize, stop, or change.
Excellent facilitation and communication skills, in both French and English.
