Role Purpose

The Granulator Operators focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment including: Operating machine tool, chemical processing, assembly, or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards. Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods. Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products. Maintaining accurate daily production records as inputs to manufacturing performance analysis. The sanitation of the production equipment within the department.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

 Preparing dry and liquid feed stock batches for the system to operate continuously.

Assembling and disassembling system components and mechanical equipment.

Packaging and labeling finished products.

Accurately documenting required food safety, quality, and production information.

Meeting and exceeding clear housekeeping, sanitation, and GMP standards while strictly following outlined food safety protocols.

Coordinating onstream functions of the system in order to maintain consistent product quality.

You will work closely with other departments such as the process engineers, maintenance, and quality control, and report directly to the granulation supervisor.  

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. In addition, this job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; work from heights, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move products ranging from 30 to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability see color and adjust focus.

Qualifications

Highschool diploma or GED is required

The ability to climb stairs and ladders, lift and carry 55 lbs., and perform other physical duties

Possessing of a strong, positive safety mindset while performing all functions/activities

Able to work a varying schedule. Standard schedule is 12 hours shifts: 3 days on - 3 days off

Mechanically minded, with a capacity to think critically about production processes, flow, and equipment troubleshooting

Eager to advance and learn new roles, including computer control board operations

Committed to our customers through ensuring compliance with all applicable GMP and food safety policies and procedures

Able to communicate openly, honestly, and directly in a non-aggressive fashion with all members of the plant team

Self-starting and self-managing

Goal-oriented and focused on continuous improvement of themselves as individuals and the operation of the plant

Dependable and punctual in meeting expectations for attendance and performance
