ROLE SUMMARY:

The Senior Associate, Engineering Cost Optimisation supports the delivery of Engineering’s cost optimisation agenda by contributing analysis, delivery coordination, and benefits tracking across cost save initiatives. The role works closely with Engineering, Finance, and FinOps partners to help identify, structure, track, and realise cost saving opportunities across platforms, cloud, tooling, and vendor spend.

This role is delivery-focused and analytical, with exposure to enterprise-scale initiatives and senior stakeholders, while operating under the direction of senior cost optimisation and engineering leaders.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Cost Optimisation Delivery Support

  • Support the identification and analysis of cost saving opportunities across Engineering, including cloud usage, platforms, tooling, and third-party suppliers.

  • Contribute to the preparation of initiative fact packs, discovery outputs, business cases, and implementation plans.

  • Assist in coordinating 12–16 week cost optimisation initiatives, maintaining momentum and delivery discipline.

Tracking, Reporting & Benefits Realisation

  • Maintain accurate tracking of initiatives from identification through implementation and benefits realisation.

  • Support the production of regular reports, dashboards, and materials for governance forums (e.g. OpCo, SteerCo).

  • Partner with Finance and FinOps teams to validate savings assumptions, track realised benefits, and ensure strong auditability.

Stakeholder & Cross-Team Coordination

  • Work with Engineering teams to gather data, inputs, and updates related to cost saving initiatives.

  • Act as a point of coordination between Engineering, Finance, FinOps, and delivery teams to support effective execution.

  • Support preparation of materials for senior stakeholders, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Experience in an analytical, delivery, or transformation support role within Engineering, Technology, Finance, or Consulting.

  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence working with financial, operational, and usage data.

  • Working knowledge of technology cost drivers (e.g. cloud consumption, services, tooling, vendors).

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce senior-ready materials.
