Responsible for assisting the Director in planning, organizing, developing, coordinating and managing the operation of the Mammography Departments at West TN Imaging Center, North Radiology Dept and other Mammo Depts as required. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Imaging Services at JMCGH, responsible for assisting in the direct management of the Mammo Departments during normal business hours. Incumbent is subject to call back as circumstances dictate.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assigns and monitors patient care according to age specific needs, assessment, acuity needs, plan of care, and competency of assigned personnel.
Responsible for all quality control required to meet MQSA and FDA standards.
Consults with regulatory inspectors as needed.
Responsible for maintaining ACR Accreditation
Participates in training, evaluation of employee performance, counseling, reprimands, disciplinary actions, and dismissal for assigned personnel.
Responds to complaints and incidents, conducts investigations, takes corrective action, and prepares documentation.
Evaluates workflow and volumes and assigns staff accordingly
Manages work and time off (PET) schedule
Evaluates, recommends, and orders adequate supplies and equipment necessary for delivery of quality patient care.
Evaluates, interprets, and implements hospital policies and procedures for assigned unit and recommends changes as needed.
Provides clinical and classroom instruction in field of mammography as necessary to include patients and staff
Responsible for seeing that occurrence reports are processed appropriately in Safety Zone.
Gives departmental feedback to appropriate management.
Responsible for assisting Director with management of departmental operations. Acts in the absence of the Director in management of the department. Assist in interviewing, hiring, monitoring activities, and disciplinary actions of the staff of the Department of Imaging Services. Assist the Director in developing and maintaining the departmental annual budget including the monitoring of monthly expenditures.
Hires, trains, assigns, and monitors work, evaluates performance, responsible for disciplinary actions, recommending salary adjustments for Radiology personnel.
Identifies and responds to complaints, problems, and issues, conducts investigation, takes corrective action and prepares related documentation.
Monitors work schedules, authorizes overtime and time off, assesses and adjusts staffing patterns.
Participates in the development and completion of the departmental goals and objectives.
Develops and maintains a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department.
Attend and represent dept. in hospital committee meetings as assigned by the Director
Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department. Maintains a "CAN DO" attitude.
Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Skills and proficiency in applying the concepts, principles and professional techniques of Medical Imaging Technology plus management and supervisory skills. Skills and proficiency in planning, organization, and time management as acquired through completion of a college based accredited Medical Imaging Program. BS and/or Masters in Health Care Administration welcomed. 5 years of supervisory experience.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:
Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), also must be licensed in Mammography by ARRT.
EXPERIENCE:
Proficiency in current practices and techniques of Radiology Administration and/or Nursing. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and job duties, while supervising others. Ability to perform various functions as acquired through 5 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
