Position Summary:
Provide expert field-based patient education and support throughout the treatment journey for the Rett community. Responsible for serving as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for their on-label, clinical education-related questions about disease state and product education. This role will primarily engage with caregivers and families, healthcare professionals (if and when appropriate), and local communities to help patients progress in their healthcare journey. The Sr. Flex Family Support Educator will help patients successfully start and stay on therapy.
This role covers open or vacant territories on the Family Support Educator (FSE) team as needed, serving as a dedicated contact for caregiver education in assigned geographic areas. The Sr. Flex FSE ensures continuity of support for patient families, HCP accounts, and internal stakeholders, acting as a crucial liaison among HCPs and patient families.
As a subject matter expert, the Sr. Flex FSE supports other Acadia Commercial, and Advocacy team members. The role involves continuous development and evolution of the Family Support Education (FSE) Teams within Patient Support Services organization. The role requires flexibility to travel within the U.S. as business needs dictate, with interim coverage periods ranging from 1 to 6 months. The role can be located anywhere in the U.S., preferably near a major airport.
Additionally, the Sr. Flex FSE collaborates with the Commercial Field Trainer, Director of Access Operations, and National Family Support & Access Director to support the development, maintenance, and implementation of field-based training programs. These programs span the Learning Continuum, from onboarding new hires to ongoing education for the Family Support (FSEs) team.

Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of relevant experience in Pharmaceutical Industry, Patient Access, National Accounts, Specialty Pharmacy, Nursing, etc., with extensive experience and technical expertise associated with Patient Engagement; MBA is a plus. A minimum of 3 years of experience and expertise in Learning & Development positions at a national level. Rare Disease, Product Launch, Advocacy, Medicaid and Medicare expertise strongly preferred with a strong background and understanding of field environment in healthcare industry. Two years (2) minimum of Patient Support, Education or Leadership experience (Patient Education, Patient Access, and/or Patient Engagement Leadership). Equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.

This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and the use of hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication both in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedule or business needs. Ability to travel by car or airplane independently up to 70% of the time and work after hours if required by travel schedule or business issues. This position is geographically based.
