Overview of Opportunity 

Two Six Technologies is seeking AI/ML Research Interns for the Summer 2025 Internship Program to help develop and test trustworthy AI systems. This internship offers an opportunity to engage in advanced research focused on improving AI system reliability, fairness, and security. Ideal candidates are passionate about AI/ML and interested in understanding how AI systems may fail when their underlying assumptions are violated. This 10-week internship program will be conducted onsite in Arlington, VA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • A foundational understanding of statistics and data science or demonstrated experience in building machine learning models and understanding their assumptions.
  • Proficiency with data science and ML engineering tools such as Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas), R, or similar frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a collaborative environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience or interest in trusted AI topics, such as privacy, explainability, bias detection, or robustness.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting academic research papers on AI/ML.
  • Experience with formal methods for evaluating AI system correctness and safety.
  • Experience with proof-based solutions (eg., proof based mathematics courses). 

Clearance/Citizenship: 

  • Due to the nature of our work US Citizenship is required
  • Candidate must have eligibility to obtain a government security clearance
