JOB SUMMARY

As a Welder Technician, you will be responsible for operating welding equipment to build high quality parts, subassemblies, and finished product. Your weldments will vary in type, size, and will be performed on a variety of production lines.  You will also be responsible for the training and mentoring of assigned welders.

Must receive a passing score on the Welder Qualification test and certify skills as required by program guidelines. Operate an overhead crane to maneuver parts safely into place. Adjust welding parameters according to defined Welding Procedure Specifications. Heat and grind metal parts and components using hand tools, torch, or welding equipment. Weld’s components in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Assemble and weld various metal parts together using clamps and various types of production tooling. Properly position material/parts to be welded. Train, train/mentor others, and work in various areas of production in response to production demands. Assist in determining root cause of welding defects and work to determine corrective actions.  Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and understand weld defects. Use basic measurement tools to validate part dimensional conformance preferred Drilling and deburring of fabricated components preferred Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints preferred Attention to detail necessary to adhere to quality standards. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain a positive working attitude and environment. Mentoring and training new team members to set them up for success Going above and beyond to support the team regardless of the task or hurdle Work in both team and individual settings where continuous improvement is essential. Regular attendance required. All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 6 plus months of welding experience either through education or work preferred

  • Ability to perform GMAW welding in a production environment preferred

  • Welding Certification through an educational institution preferred
