Job Description:

  • Perform and develop techniques for complex multi-physics simulations, including, but not limited to, conjugate heat transfer, creep, fatigue, and electromagnetics.
  • Design and evaluate new gear box assemblies through simulation and gear design software, such as Kissoft.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in Structures related engineering topics including Statics, Dynamics, Topology Optimization, Modal, Random Vibration, Magnetics, and Thermal Analyses.
  • Support new product development (NPD) engineering projects through simulation to meet market driven design guidelines and fulfill cost, timing, reliability, and high volume manufacturing requirements.
  • Support the Advanced Engineering team in the research and development of new to market products and technology.
  • Develop reduced order plant models (ROM) to predict mechanical and thermal system performance using MATLAB, Simscape, Python, or similar languages.
  • Perform measurements, including, but not limited to, sound, vibration, and modal studies.
  • Support NPD, new to market technology, and simulation advancement through structural analysis (FEA).
  • Maintain current knowledge of developments in the field to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of company products.

Partial work from home allowed on a regular basis.

Job requirements:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and 2 years of relevant experience as an Engineer or alternate related acceptable occupation; OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field, or the foreign degree equivalent, and 4 years of relevant experience as an Engineer or alternate related acceptable occupation.

Work or academic experience must have included: 

  • CAD modeling (NX, SolidWorks, or other commercial code).
  • Computational language (MatLab, Simscape, Simulink, Python, Fortran, C, C++, or VB).
  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation.
  • Multiphysics simulations including CHT, electromagnetics, and FSI.
  • Working with complex material behavior, including Creep, Fatigue, and Strain Rate Sensitivity.
  • System modeling in Matlab, Simscape, Simulink, Python, or other computational language.
  • Laboratory testing and data acquisition, including vibration, temperature, pressure, flow rate, torque, and power.
