What would you do 

This position is responsible for the leadership and direction of the fire service business throughout New Brunswick, with our office being located in Dieppe. Achieved through a combination of scheduled field work as a Fire Alarm Technician, and supervising the Fire Alarm and Sprinkler service operations, this role is central to the execution of the district’s objectives. Being the main point of contact for field technicians, supporting the Service Coordinator and working closely with the Fire Service Manager to communicate and deliver on the objectives of the business strategies are important aspects of the role. Customer service, problem solving and collaborating with sales are also important tasks this role requires.

 

How you will do it 

-        Implementing plans, programs and processes designed to meet and exceed corporate goals and objectives as well as maximizing market potential of the service business.

-        Recognizing opportunities to maximize efficiency, utilization, real-time debrief, and task oriented behaviours.

-        One Team: Work with managers and administrators to ensure labour requirements are met, manpower is adequate and scheduling is as efficient as possible for delivering results.  

-        Customer Satisfaction: Responsible for maintaining effective customer communications along with building solid customer relationships from initial contact through order acquisition, delivery, installation and service.

-        Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled while quickly resolving customer issues and enhancing customer relations.  

-        Productivity Improvement: Ensure that fair and effective performance measurements are assigned and that employees are motivated to achieve and/or exceed their assigned goals and objectives utilizing management tools and practices. Also responsible to be proficient at, perform as required and instruct/train all new and existing clerical and dispatch personnel in all specific job procedures including our CRM system.  

-        Safety Compliance: Ensure that all field employees comply with corporate safety programs. Responsible to ensure that employee safety training is complete and up-to-date. Identify safety issues and hazards and notify corporate safety office of those conditions that require corrective action.  

 

What we look for  

Required 

-        Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Technician (can be satisfied with a combination of experience and education)

-        Electronic Technologist or Electronics background preferred (can be satisfied with field minimum experience)

-        Fire Alarm Control Panel programming experience

-        Ability to prepare accurate reports, documentation and verification reports on time and with high quality output

-        CFAA preferred, or willingness to complete certification program (company paid)

-        Demonstrated business acumen

-        Supervisory/leadership experience to include training, team building, presentation and negotiation skills, administration and effective interaction with customers

-        Ability to travel throughout New Brunswick, PEI (and occasionally Nova Scotia, as required) to attend scheduled and unscheduled service calls and inspections

-        Participation in on-call rotation

-        Willingness to go above and beyond for our customers, team and business strategy
