As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will define, create, and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of information systems in accordance with government requirements for Blue Origin. You will review information systems in order to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades. You will also be required to assess the impacts on system modifications and stay up-to-date on technological advances.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain authorization and accreditation (A&A) documentation in alignment with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Ensure secure operation and maintenance of systems in accordance with established system security plans.
  • Oversee configuration baselines and implement change control procedures, including precise tracking.
  • Lead the daily maintenance activities of systems, conduct audits, and manage end-of-life and patch status for optimal system functioning.
  • Identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities and non-compliance issues, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Engineer and implement secure interfaces between external systems and architectures.
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management initiatives for client systems and programs.
  • Design and implement security controls that support desired application or system functionalities.
  • Participate in Engineering and Configuration Review Boards and Working Groups to develop robust and secure system solutions.
  • Recommend system-level solutions to meet specified security requirements.
  • Verify that all users possess the required security clearances before granting them system access.
  • Conduct regular reviews and self-inspections of information systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize security software to detect malicious code, viruses, and intruders effectively.
  • Analyze vulnerability reports to guide the mitigation and remediation actions for responsible systems.
  • Stay informed of organization-specific security and IT policies, ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and System Owner (SO) to address current needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current SSBI and Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field, with a minimum of two years of experience in information assurance and/or cybersecurity.
  • Meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoDD 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 1.
  • Highly organized with strong multitasking and task prioritization skills.
  • Sophisticated critical thinking and analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, creativity, and a dedication to excellence and quality.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and updating Certification and Accreditation documentation adhering to the Risk Management Framework.
  • Proficiency in using security auditing tools supporting RMF requirements.
  • Additional security certifications such as CISSP or specialized Information Security/Cybersecurity certifications.
  • Cybersecurity experience supporting Intelligence Community programs, with Department of Defense (DoD) experience as a plus.
  • Previous experience as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) and/or System Administrator.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

This position requires a hands-on individual with a robust technical background, exceptional analytical capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest cybersecurity standards.
