Key Position Details:

**Position is expected to backfill at Abbott Northwestern Genral Medicine Associates Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, and Plymouth WestHealth locations**

  • 1.0 FTE (40-hours per week)

  • 8-hour day shifts

  • No weekends

  • Benefit eligible

Job Description:

Provides direction and guidance to the provider coordination/scheduling team that schedules and coordinates a variety of appointments, procedures and tests, maintains and communicates department and provider schedules. Focuses on improving access to care through coaching and leading the front line in enhancing the patient experience.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Provides team direction and guidance
    • Directs daily work flow of scheduling team.
    • Contributes insight into the planning and development of policies, procedures, operating and budget systems.
    • Provides technical expertise, guidance and training to support staff.
    • Assists in the implementation and adherence to established policies and objectives.
  • Patient scheduling support
    • Constant phone contact with multiple sources to support the scheduling and follow up related to appointments, tests and procedures.
    • Scheduling, prioritizing and processing patient appointments for consultations, procedures, diagnostics and outreach.
    • Receives, addresses and routes patient concerns.
  • Data management
    • Monitors the access data to ensure patients are receiving appropriate customer service.
    • Shares data and coaches the team to ensure high quality customer service.
    • Reports any significant changes, challenges or trends in the data.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2 to 5 years medical office experience including administrative support, scheduling and customer service and
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and electronic medical records


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Post secondary education in the medical field
