Role Summary

Kinesso is currently seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to fill the position of Cloud DevOps Engineer. This role will work under the direction of the Director, DevOps to cross and merge the barriers that exist between software development, testing, and operations teams. This role requires an individual who has a passion to mentor and assist other engineers throughout the company and seeks to continually improve processes company-wide.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure using cloud services especially GCP
  • Develop automation tools and scripts to handle deployments, monitoring, and maintenance of systems.
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery of applications.
  • Ensure the security of infrastructure and applications by implementing best practices (IAM, security audits, patch management).
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.

 

Requirements

  • Expertise in GCP, and knowledgeable on AWS for deploying and scaling applications.
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform, or CloudFormation to automate infrastructure management.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows-based systems and their administration.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and alerting tools like DataDog for tracking performance and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Docker for containerization and Kubernetes for orchestration.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, such as secure coding practices, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with standards like ISO, SOC, or GDPR.
  • Experience designing disaster recovery plans and managing backup solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Expert in implementing and administration of Hashicorp Vault.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, DNS, load balancers, and VPNs for configuring and troubleshooting network-related issues.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools i.e Spinnaker, Jenkins.
