*This is a hybrid role based out of our HQ office near Portland, OR. In-office expectation is 3 days or more per week at manager discretion.

The Sr. Costing Analyst - Footwear role will support efforts to achieve costing vision of competitive, predictable, and sustainable total costs for Columbia footwear. This position will be responsible for leading and cascading the Columbia mission of “Connecting Active People With Their Passions” through coaching, execution and accountability.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Collaborate with Liaison Office Costing team on costing timelines and processes
  • Analyze and create seasonal costing reports.
  • Provide costing information to Footwear Merchandising, Design, Development and Finance
  • Assist team members with analyzing Cost Breakdowns and finding potential cost-saving ideas
  • Collaborate with Developers to estimate the savings from revision packages
  • Create pre-cost estimates by collaborating with Merchandising on product briefs, Designers on initial designs and Developers on Tech Packs. 
  • Create pre-cost estimates on Special Makeup (SMU) projects throughout the season
  • Analyze forecasted production volumes to assist in determining potential volume discounts
  • Calculate and communicate target FOB to product creation teams
  • Run Cognos and TM1 financial reports and communicate throughout the product creation teams
  • Conduct margin analysis and collaborate with product teams and finance department to help reach our financial targets
  • Attend sample review meetings and provide footwear costing insight
  • Assist in data entry of costing information as necessary to achieve costing deadlines
  • Assist in representing Footwear Costing in the creation of the footwear product calendar

YOU ARE

  • Possess super organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict timelines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work extended hours if necessary.
  • Collaborate with technology team to improve data tools and reporting capabilities
  • Ability to maintain positive open lines of communication with all Columbia Sportswear management, staff, and other departments in order to contribute to the smooth flow of information and effective operation of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • High level communication and presentation skills.
  • Footwear industry knowledge around development and manufacturing processes.

YOU HAVE

  • College degree with course work in manufacturing, engineering, etc. or related fields
  • 5-8 years experience in industry-related footwear manufacturing is preferred; data analytics or apparel development.
