Registered Nurse (RN) PICU
Full-Time
Nights
7pm-7am


The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a level 2 trauma center at UMC Children’s Hospital is a 16 bed unit, serving patient’s ages 0-20 suffering life threatening illnesses or injuries. An RN in our PICU will learn and gain experience in a family centered atmosphere where medical and surgical care is provided using a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach. Combining the talents of more than 30 specialists and sub-specialists, children at UMC are treated for a wide range of needs that can include trauma, general surgery, cardiology, neurology and neurological surgery, oncology/hematology, endocrinology, and burn care.


Registered professional nurse who assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. Relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.


Qualifications:
-Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
-Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
-Must maintain a current BLS and PALS certification from American Heart
Association
-ACLS certification from American Heart Association preferred and encouraged
-BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire
-Pediatric CCRN or Certified Pediatric Nurse Certification preferred
