Accountabilities

Analyst in the Structured Equities Trading Quantitative Strategies Group is expected to work closely to the trading teams of all Global Equities groups with a focus on pricing structured OTC products and notes, and generating risk reports. Successful candidate will also provide support in managing trade lifecycle and producing business intelligence reports for sales and structuring groups.  The role also requires extensive collaboration with Quantitative Modelling, Global Operations, Market Risk etc. to ensure the implementation of effective and efficient downstream reporting capabilities for trading and note issuing activities.

Knowledge

  • Familiarity with equity and fixed income structured products and/or other financial products.
  • Understanding of database design for sell side trading.
  • Some knowledge of financial engineering concepts, familiarity with pricing theory and derivative models.
  • Understanding of key market, credit, liquidity risk management concepts is good to have.
  • Knowledge of probability, statistics, numerical methods for optimization problems are good to have.

Skills

  • Advance programming skills, C#, python, Flask, React JS, SQL.
  • Capable of producing business intelligence and risk reports.
  • Detail oriented
  • Communicate clearly with various stakeholders (trading, sales, structuring) in order to understand and resolve issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, calculations, and the work environment.

Experience / Education / Other

  • Financial industry professional 1-2 years of experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in a quantitative or technical area (i.e., computer science, math engineering, etc.).
  • Master’s degree and/or professional designation (CFA, FRM, CPA, CA. etc.) is a plus.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
