DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Collections Department sits within Finance and is responsible for the collection of outstanding bills and the provision of debtor statistics to the partnership. 

The Collections Department operates from two sites; with half the team based in central London and half based in our Global Business Centre (GBC) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

The role of the job holder is:

  • Production and distribution of standard collections chaser emails in accordance with the firm's standard collections policy and any client specific dispensations.
  • 1st stage telephone chasers to client AP departments in accordance with the firm's standard collections policy and any client specific dispensations.
  • Production of monthly client collections statements
  • Communication with finance staff, fee earners, Partners and Senior Management globally.
  • Full scope collections for designated practice area, conducting monthly meetings with partners, providing up to date information of collections activity.
  • Update 3E with results of collections activity.
  • Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location and services

  • 1 to 2 years Collections experience in a legal environment with knowledge of Elite 3E would be advantageous

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING

  • Grade 12 or equivalent - Required
  • BCom degree - Desired
