Redwood Credit Union is seeking a Web Designer who will play a pivotal role in designing and maintaining Redwood Credit Union’s digital experience across public websites, digital banking platform, and internal content systems. This hands-on role blends visual design, content strategy, and is responsible for UX/UI design and development, system administration, and cross‑functional collaboration to build simple, accessible, high‑quality experiences for Members and internal teams. 
 
This role supports and maintains RCU’s digital platforms using HTML, CSS, Figma, and Adobe Suite. Platforms include the public website, digital banking platform, as well as RCU’s additional business lines such as RCU Insurance Services, RCU Auto Services, RCU Community Fund, Grove Café, and RCU’s team member Intranet. 
 
Key Responsibilities
Enhance and Maintain RCU’s Digital Platforms 
User Experience & Interface Design:
• Design and build easy-to-use, responsive, and accessible web and mobile experiences using UX design principles, usability best practices, analytics and feedback.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to visualize solutions. Refine designs based on feedback, data, and business requirements.
• Create/optimize images using Photoshop, Illustrator, and other design tools.
• Translate requirements into design and content solutions. 
Content & Web Production:
• Create and update web content, including product pages and support articles. 
• Prepare optimized digital assets. 
Website Operations & Governance:
• Support site development, vendor handovers, and configuration updates.
• Improve search relevance, taxonomy, and metadata.
• Work with third-party vendors as needed to troubleshoot and resolve system issues, as well as experience, content, and accessibility issues 
Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
• Work with developers, product managers, and other designers to bring designs to life, ensuring technical feasibility and visual appeal.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and project reviews. 
• Collaborate with Communications & PR and Compliance teams to ensure content for RCU’s public digital assets conforms to current industry standards, brand voice, compliance, and other requirements.
• Partner with Marketing to maintain and enforce RCU’s brand guidelines in all digital platforms and ensure effective support of current product promotions. 
Quality Assurance & Accessibility:
• Validate designs across devices and browsers.
• Support ADA (WCAG) compliance.
• Monitor metrics to identify improvement opportunities. 
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify UX and content enhancements.
• Stay current with design standards and accessibility requirements.
• Recommend design improvements that promote clarity, usability, and engagement.
Program Management and Other Functions:
• Manage versioning and upgrades by working with vendors and coordinating related software changes and configurations.
• Make recommendations for program changes and enhancements. 
• Complete special projects as directed by the Assistant Manager, Digital Experience.
• Participate in various committees to provide insight and feedback on digital initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in human- Computer Interaction (HCI), graphic design, interaction design, computer science, information technology or closely related field, and a minimum of three years of UX/UI experience. 
 
Experience should include platform administration and management, the ability to resolve compatibility issues across different browsers and computing platforms, and successful presentation of engaging visuals through UX/UI optimization, design principles, layout techniques, and font uniformity. 
 
Compensation: Base starting range: $82,621 to $108,863 annually commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity. Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
• Work environment is indoors; majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.
