Our Portugal Staff Leasing market is growing, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with strong sales experience in the staffing and recruitment industry to expand our presence in the Portuguese market.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and driving revenue growth through the sale of recruitment and staffing solutions.
This role requires a deep understanding of talent acquisition services, workforce solutions, and the Portuguese hiring market, combined with excellent consultative sales skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities within Portugal across key sectors such as IT, engineering, finance, healthcare, retail, and industrial.
Build and execute a strategic sales plan to grow the client portfolio and increase revenue.
Prospect and engage potential clients through networking, cold outreach, referrals, and industry events.
Conduct market research to identify hiring trends and potential growth sectors.
Client Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with HR leaders, hiring managers, and C-level stakeholders.
Understand client workforce challenges and propose tailored staffing and recruitment solutions.
Act as a trusted advisor on recruitment strategies, workforce planning, and talent market insights.
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
Sales & Revenue Growth
Achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and service agreements.
Negotiate pricing, service terms, and partnership agreements.
Collaboration with Recruitment Teams
Work closely with internal recruitment consultants and delivery teams to ensure successful candidate placements.
Provide detailed client requirements and job specifications to recruiters.
Monitor delivery performance and maintain service quality.
Market Positioning
Represent the company at industry events, networking meetings, and conferences.
Strengthen the company’s brand visibility in the Portuguese staffing market.
Monitor competitor activity and market developments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Human Resources, or related field.
5+ years of sales or business development experience within the staffing, recruitment, or HR services industry.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Strong knowledge of the Portuguese labor market and recruitment landscape.
Experience selling permanent recruitment, contract staffing, RPO, or workforce solutions.

Language Requirements
Fluent English (mandatory)

Existing network of HR decision-makers in Portugal
Experience working with international clients
Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.)
Knowledge of Portuguese labor law related to recruitment and staffing
