ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology

Enabling smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips

Working where tomorrow is created.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the heart of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is the technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and solutions for process control, ZEISS enables the manufacture of ever smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips – and is thus playing a decisive role in shaping the age of micro- and nanoelectronics with its innovations.

Your Role

  • Act as the technical interface between Development, Product Management, Application Experts and Customers, translating field experience and feedback into product improvements

  • Analyze feedback and data on tool performance together with R&D team, identify performance gaps, and drive the maturation of the system towards a scalable series product

  • Translate service and technical support feedback into serviceability improvements, ensuring maintainable and robust series-ready product solutions

  • Define, prioritize and coordinate technical improvement initiatives in close collaboration with Product Management, Key functional System Engineer and internal and external development teams

  • Ensure that product adaptations, system architectures and key technologies are transferred into sustainable and robust series solutions while maintaining performance, reliability and customer value

  • Drive the continuous evolution of mechatronic, optical and software-related system functions from demonstrator status towards series readiness

Your Profile

  • A degree (Master's/Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Optical Engineering or a comparable technical field

  • Experience in product development, system engineering, technology development or product industrialization within a high-tech environment

  • Strong understanding of complex mechatronic, optical and laser-based systems, ideally including metrology technologies

  • Experience in evaluating prototypes, demonstrators or early product generations and driving their evolution towards market-ready solutions

  • Strong analytical skills with a structured and data-driven approach to problem solving and decision making

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across development, product management, operations and customer-facing functions

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (to other ZEISS sites, suppliers or partners)

  • Professional proficiency in English and German (spoken and written)
