Summary:

The Vice President / Director will play a lead role in executing private credit and structured capital transactions, including unitranche facilities, senior and junior debt placements, first-out/last-out structures, NAV‑based financing, preferred equity, and structured equity solutions.

Candidates will be responsible for end‑to‑end transaction execution, managing client and investor communications, and overseeing internal deal teams.
This role requires a high‑performing professional with deep analytical rigor, strong communication and client‑management skills, sophisticated understanding of capital structures and private credit solutions, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Execution & Project Leadership

  • Lead full lifecycle execution of private credit and debt placement mandates, from initial outreach and pitch preparation through negotiations and closing.
  • Manage multiple transaction workstreams, including due diligence, financial modeling review, structuring analyses, term‑sheet negotiation, lender outreach, preparation of lender presentations and diligence materials, and negotiation of credit documentation.
  • Coordinate closely with legal advisors, lenders/credit funds, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and timely completion of major tasks.

Client & Investor Engagement

  • Serve as a primary day‑to‑day contact for clients (management teams, sponsors, founders, board members), providing strategic guidance, market insights, and financing alternatives.
  • Lead investor dialogue with private credit funds, BDCs, insurance platforms, and other lenders during marketing phases.
  • Support the ongoing development of long‑term relationships with sponsors, business owners, lending counterparties, institutional investors, and other ecosystem participants.

Analytical & Strategic Work

  • Oversee the development and review of financial models, transaction comparables, capital‑structure analyses, and downside‑case stress tests.
  • Analyze borrower financial performance, collateral characteristics, and covenant structures to support credit narratives.
  • Prepare client materials, including confidential information memoranda, investor presentations, and tailored financing process plans.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and train Associates and Analysts; ensure accurate, high‑quality deliverables and instill strong execution discipline.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and development support for junior team members.
  • Uphold high professional standards, operational excellence, and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications:

Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, capital markets, debt advisory, secondaries, or investment banking.
  • Prior experience executing sponsor‑backed financing transactions or advising on private debt placements is strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including structuring, due diligence, credit underwriting, and documentation review.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous transactions with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with private credit databases and data‑room platforms.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities, with strong executive presence.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a high‑growth advisory environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to build relationships across a diverse set of clients and investors.

Licensing

  • FINRA Series 79 and 63 required (or the ability to obtain).
