Location: Hybrid 3 days in-office Atlanta, GA

The Network Engineer is responsible for supporting, configuring, analyzing, and maintaining RaceTrac's enterprise network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), wireless networks, routing, switching, and firewall platforms. This individual works closely with cross-functional Information Technology teams to ensure the stability, security, and performance of critical network services that support corporate, retail, and distribution operations.

The Network Engineer participates in infrastructure projects, network upgrades, troubleshooting efforts, and operational support activities. This position is responsible for identifying and resolving network issues, implementing approved changes, maintaining documentation, and supporting the continuous improvement of network services and technologies.

Work Experience / Skills

Required

  • 4–7 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments

  • Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Cisco routing and switching infrastructure

  • Hands-on experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and wireless networking technologies

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving network performance, availability, and connectivity issues in production environments

  • Experience implementing network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities within established change management processes

  • Experience utilizing network monitoring and management tools

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

  • Technical certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSA, PCNSE, or equivalent

  • Experience with SD-WAN technologies

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure networking and hybrid connectivity solutions

  • Experience supporting enterprise wireless infrastructure and wireless controllers

  • Experience with network automation and scripting technologies (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, etc.)

  • Experience with network segmentation, access control, and security best practices

  • Experience supporting large multi-site or retail environments

Responsibilities:

•    Designs, executes, and documents project plans for various network infrastructure projects.
•    Administers aspects of Microsoft Active Directory, especially effective use of security groups and group policy objects to support desired outcomes for various projects and support requests.
•    Installs, supports, and maintains hardware and software infrastructure according to best practices.
•    Designs, implements, and maintains virtual systems in VMWare virtual environments
•    Implements and maintains the physical infrastructure underpinning the virtual environments
•    Researches emerging technology trends in order to make recommendations.
•    Implements the necessary controls and procedures to protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure, or destruction.
