The Group Risk Management (GRM) Talent team is part of the GRM Chief Operating Office (COO). As an important contributor to this growing team, the Senior Manager, Learning and Development will work at the intersection of strategy, innovation, thought leadership, and learning, to equip our people for the future of work.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Talent and Learning, you will be focused on:

  • Building Learning Pathways: Create clear, step-by-step plans to help employees learn critical skills for their roles.
  • Supporting Early Talent: Guide new hires through their first steps at RBC, ensuring they feel welcomed and prepared.
  • Staying Ahead of Trends: Keep up with the latest tools and technologies to make learning engaging and effective.
  • Working with Teams: Collaborate with colleagues across GRM and HR to align talent programs with our business goals.
  • Leading with Impact: Inspire your team and others to embrace continuous learning and growth.
  • Ensuring ongoing alignment with GRM’s objectives, strategic priorities, and regulatory compliance requirements.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:

  • A natural people and change leader who has a personal passion for continuous learning, self-development, and unlocking the talent of our people.
  • Excel at building cross-functional relationships and thrive while navigating uncharted waters to bring new ideas to life.
  • An excellent communicator, leader, coach, and relationship builder.
  • 7+ years of experience in learning, talent development, or a related field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a love for learning new things.
  • Great communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Comfort with adapting to change and trying new approaches.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with tech like AI or machine learning.
  • An MBA or project management certification.
  • Experience in risk management or financial services.
