About the Role

GSK has a strong and exciting pipeline of medicines and vaccines and the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our innovative pharmaceutical products are accessible to patients and healthcare providers. The Market Access Manager will develop and execute market access strategies, working closely with cross-functional teams to navigate the complex landscape of healthcare reimbursement and policy.

Your role will be varied and will include:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive market access strategies to ensure optimal pricing, reimbursement, and access for GSK products.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to identify opportunities and challenges in the healthcare environment.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including regulatory affairs, medical affairs, marketing, and sales teams, to align market access initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with local, regional and global GSK stakeholders to ensure best commercial outcome for the GSK NZ business.
  • Develop and manage effective relationships with Pharmac, the Ministry of Health, and other key external stakeholders.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with Medical and Commercial to lead Pharmac reimbursement submissions and ensure they are delivered to a high standard in prescribed timelines.
  • Offers expert opinion into pipeline and early product pre-launch plans including forecast of budget impacts and probability of funding success

About you?

This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, deep understanding of various channels, and the ability to collaborate across multiple areas of the business.

You’ll also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Health, , Business, Finance, Marketing or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc, PhD) preferred.
  • Extensive experience in market access, health economics, or a related field within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, reimbursement processes, and health policy.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful market access strategies
  • Experience in interacting with reimbursement authorities, involvement with health technological appraisals and reimbursement submissions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, project management skills, modelling capabilities, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of disease/therapeutic areas such as respiratory, oncology, and immunology desirable
