Global IS Manager – Security Domain Architecture

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the architectural authority for Infra and Cloud Security area by defining the enterprise security architecture directions and standards and deciding if they are in line with the goals and objectives of ABB.

This role is contributing to the Security Risk and Compliance Organization Globally. Main stakeholders are Security teams, Information Systems teams across global services and business areas.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Maintaining a multi-year strategic investment plan and technology roadmap and advising on IT investment decisions.

• Steering the definition and realization of capabilities and solutions to support business objectives (process, applications, data and technology) in alignment with the enterprise architecture directions.

• Defining the target and transition architecture and roadmaps for our Security capabilities that provide safety in our interactions with customers, markets and in our own operations. It includes physical and logical security services, infrastructure related security services, security operations and crisis management.

• Shaping the detailed strategy for narrow architecture of complexity within their own area of responsibility.

• Being accountable for the shaping of technology landscape in their own area of responsibility across ABB, ensuring technology fit through sanity checks.

• Maintaining horizontal view of technology for their area of expertise to assure the realization of benefits from technology simplification, standardization, and modernization.

• Approving, reviewing, and defining security blueprints, reference architectures, and standards.

• Approving architecture changes and solutions and exercising authority to approve/ reject solutions that fulfill criteria defined in the heatmap.

• Collaborating to improve, define, maintain, and optimize building processes and standards.

• Acting in compliance with corporate IS regulation and policies, ABB regulations and guidelines, and any other internal control regulations that may be assigned.

• Keeping abreast of new and emerging IS technology, industry practices, architecture standards and practices related to the relevant technology platform.

• Championing the importance and value of architecture design principles and best practices.

• Evaluating the ideas for efficiency improvement and value addition, decides based on their technological, financial, and functional feasibilities.

Qualifications for the role

• Experience: 10+ years in IT/IT Security or Architecture, with a proven track record of designing large-scale infrastructure.

• Cloud Expertise: Deep knowledge of public cloud security principles (identity management, network isolation, and encryption) regardless of the specific provider.

• Process Driven: Experience mapping technical security controls to global standards like ISO 27002.

• Collaborative Mindset: You enjoy working with other engineers to solve complex problems and can explain security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Hands-on Capability: You are comfortable moving from a high-level architectural drawing to a technical prototype to prove a concept works.

• Certificates (preferred):

  • Strategic & Management- CISSP, ISSAP, CISM.

  • Cloud-Agnostic Mastery- CCSP, CCSK.

  • Methodology & Frameworks- CISA, SABSA, NIST 800-53 or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/ Implementer.

  • Technical Specialties- GDSA, GCSA.
