We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our International team to help shape the future of Etsy's customer experience across global markets. You will work on crafting inclusive, culturally-relevant experiences that make Etsy feel local and authentic for buyers around the world.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Director of Product Design. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
For this role, we are considering candidates based in the United States. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. For candidates within commutable distance, Etsy requires in-office attendance once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
Product designers at Etsy work in a squad alongside a product manager, 4-6 engineers, a researcher and a data analyst. Together they drive their own part of the Etsy customer experience by delivering solutions to problems and getting feedback directly from customers.
What does the day-to-day look like?
Lead end-to-end design projects that improve the shopping experience for international customers across all platforms
Partner with research, product, and local market teams to deeply understand cultural nuances and customer needs in different regions
Craft sophisticated design solutions that scale across multiple languages, currencies, and cultural contexts while maintaining brand consistency
Build and validate prototypes through user testing with international audiences
Collaborate with our design systems team to ensure patterns work globally and contribute to evolving our international design standards
Mentor other designers and provide feedback on work that impacts international markets

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
5+ years of validated experience as a Product Designer, with success in designing for international audiences
Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design solutions that consider cultural contexts
Experience with localization and internationalization standard methodologies
Excellent visual and interaction design skills with attention to cultural sensitivities
Consistent record of using data and research to advise design decisions
Strong communication skills and experience working with cross-functional, global teams
