The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services Process and Systems Transformation (PST) Team:
RTX has an opening for an Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer position (Manager, Information Workplace Services) to support, optimize and scale our Active Virtual Desktop environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AVD deployment, session host management, FSLogix, and Azure networking, along with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and automation.
What You Will Do:
Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) host pools, workspaces, and session hosts
Implement and maintain FSLogix profile containers using Azure Files or NetApp
Optimize AVD performance and user experience through image management and autoscaling
Configure Azure networking components (VNet, NSG, firewalls) for secure AVD access
Monitor and troubleshoot AVD sessions, user profiles, and application delivery
Collaborate with security teams to apply hardening policies and compliance controls
Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, ARM templates, or Bicep
Maintain documentation and contribute to knowledge base for AVD operations
Support integration with Microsoft 365, Teams, and third-party applications
Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for AVD-related issues
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling.
Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
Experience with Azure PaaS, Active Directory, and FSLogix
Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure-as-code
Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications You Prefer:
Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and diagnostics tools
Understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
