What impact you’ll make

As the Technical Leader of the Blade Thermal Design team, you will provide technical guidance and leadership to a team of engineers responsible for the thermal design and analysis of gas turbine rotor airfoils spanning all aspects of the component life cycle (design, manufacture, validation, service).

Job Description

What you’ll do

  • Facilitate blade thermal design/analysis projects worked by team members: help define inputs and methods, monitor progress, assist with difficulties, perform peer reviews, and support Controlled Title Holder (CTH) reviews.
  • Mentor the technical skills of team members.
  • Ensure blade thermal designs/analyses are performed in accordance with design practice (DP) requirements and design template (DT) best practices.
  • Continuously improve blade thermal design methods and tools and the associated DPs and DTs. 
  • Engage with and guide advanced technology development for our products and design methods.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of multidisciplinary teams while maintaining a One Team mindset.  Serve as a primary point of contact for inquiries from other teams.
  • Help resolve issues and improve processes regarding the manufacture and repair of turbine blades.
  • Assist in short-term and long-term project planning.

What you’ll bring (Basic Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar)
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering industry experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in gas turbine thermal, mechanical, or aerodynamic design

What will make you stand out

  • Experience in gas turbine hot gas path component thermal design
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to simplify complex topics into clear and concise learnings and actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and to understand the needs of internal and external customers
  • Experience with relevant tools including CAD (NX), CFD (CFX, StarCCM+), and GE Vernova internal tools (CalideNG, FlowSim)
  • Advanced degree in relevant engineering discipline
  • Understanding of GE Vernova internal business processes

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
