SUMMARY

The Credit Assistant 2 is responsible for the accurate and timely determination of credit worthiness for new National Accounts in accordance with established policies, practices, and procedures in a manner that will contribute to the profit of the company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required:

  • High school degree and a minimum of 1 year credit and collection experience with a manufacturer, distributor or wholesaler extending commercial credit (business to business).

  • Intermediate Word and Excel skills, exposure to automated A/R software, and excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills and analytical and detail orientation.

Preferred:

  • SAP experience

  • Associate Degree

  • Credit experience in distribution or manufacturing environment

  • NACM Credit courses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reviews credit applications and new account set-up sheets for accuracy and completeness

  • Establishes customer account numbers in SAP and responsible for notifying sales representatives of credit terms and conditions

  • Conducts credit investigations by contacting business references, credit bureaus and financial institutions in order to check credit worthiness

  • Establishes customer accounts for new and existing locations

  • Makes necessary changes to customer’s master file requested by Credit Management

  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with all levels of internal and external customers

  • Keeps staff updated and current on status of credit files for existing customers

  • Maintains departments customer files

  • Performs other duties as assigned
