Job Description:

The Special Projects Manager is responsible for managing strategic and cross-departmental initiatives that add value to the organization. This individual leads a team of Analysts and oversees the development and implementation of multiple project lifecycles at one time. The Manager serves as a liaison between the project sponsor and their team. Up to 10% travel required.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates project plans and articulates roles, project goals, and timelines, while incorporating project lifecycle models.
  • Carries out project support functions.
  • Presents compiled research and analytical support to project sponsors and ensures buy-in from internal departments.
  • Assists with the entire project management cycle (i.e. planning, execution, closing).
  • Provides development opportunities for team members in areas such as project management functions and process improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborates between project sponsor and teams on process development and strategy implementation.
  • Develops and maintains relationships between departments and internal stakeholders within the company.
  • Manages expectations for the project sponsors, internal customers, teams and vendors.
  • Provides continual follow up and ensures internal customers’ needs are met.
  • Oversees and defines project measures of success.
  • Supervises, mentors, and develops interns, Special Projects Senior Analyst and/or Special Projects Analyst

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience within a business, consulting or analytical role preferred
  • 1+ years experience managing direct reports preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Visio, and preferred
