Theatre Registered Veterinary Nurse 

Location: Southfields Veterinary Specialists 

Job Type: Permanent 

Hours: 40 hours/week 

Salary: From £28,000, depending on experience

 

Your role and responsibilities  

An exciting opportunity had arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Theatre Nursing Team.  

As a Theatre RVN you will work alongside 2 full time Theatre RVNs, 1 part time Theatre RVN and 2 Theatre Techs. You will work with surgeons from soft tissue, orthopaedics, neurology, ophthalmology, cardiology and exotics.  

  • The opportunity to use fluoroscopy and portable x-rays for in-op imagining.  

  • Performing the circulating nurse and scrub nurse role. 

  • Provide nursing care and preparations for surgical patients including clipping and cleaning surgical site, IV placements, feeding tube placements etc.  

  • Help with the maintenance and preparation of sterile supplies.   

  • Supporting SVNs and PCAs during their theatre rotation. 

  • Infection control monitoring. 

  • Work and communicate effectively between different departments and personnel. 

  • Anaesthesia and sedations for surgical patients

  • Provide highest standard of care for our patients. 

You would work a variety of shifts between 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 2:8 weekends with time in lieu the following week and a minimum of 1 bank holiday per year.

Referral experience is not essential as full training and support will be provided.
