Job Summary:

The Academic Clinical Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and oversight of clinical placements for students in professional training programs. This role ensures that all experiential learning opportunities align with academic requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional goals. The coordinator serves as a liaison between the institution, students, and external partners including hospitals, clinics, schools, and other professional settings.

Education & Experience

Education and Experience Required:

Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two (2) years of administrative support experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively coordinate with students, faculty, and external partners; excels in organization and problem-solving to manage complex placement logistics; maintains a high level of attention to detail in handling compliance and documentation; and effectively prioritizes tasks and manages time in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure clinical and internship sites that meet academic and accreditation requirements.
  • Match students with appropriate placements based on program needs and student qualifications.
  • Maintain and update affiliation agreements with external partners to ensure legal and institutional compliance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among students, faculty, and site supervisors to coordinate placements and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and track required documentation, including immunizations, background checks, and compliance records.
  • Provide pre-placement orientation and resources to help students prepare for clinical experiences.
  • Support faculty in monitoring student progress and addressing any placement-related concerns.
  • Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of clinical and internship sites on a regular basis.
  • Recruit and onboard qualified site supervisors or preceptors in collaboration with placement partners.
  • Maintain accurate records of placements, site contacts, and student evaluations in a centralized system.
  • Generate reports for accreditation reviews, program assessments, and institutional reporting.
  • Plan and coordinate informational events, such as orientations and site fairs, for students and site partners.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and changes in clinical education standards and regulations.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance knowledge and improve placement coordination practices.
