Purpose
Develop and execute Divergent’s materials and process technology roadmap 
 
The Role
•Partner closely with business development, key customers, government entities and commercial partners to develop Divergent’s M&P roadmap, with a focus on disruptive innovation in the Additive Manufacturing and Aerospace & Defense industries 
•Oversee Divergent’s novel alloy development programs, spanning aluminums, nickels & steels for high productivity, high strength and/or high temperature A&D applications 
•Drive the company’s AM and Materials qualification, process control & part validation strategies, meeting near term customer requirements while spearheading industry defining methodologies leveraging the full DAPS technology suite 
•Develop and execute major development programs at the intersection of materials, manufacturing technology, and automation to capture new customer programs, drive down manufacturing costs, vertically integrate technology elements and minimize non-recurring engineering 

Basic Qualifications
•B.S. M.S. pr PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Weld Engineering or related engineering field 
•10+ years of relevant experience in a technical field
•5+ years – Developing AM specific materials, processes and/or applications 
•5+ years – Leading engineering teams with a focus on development and innovation 
•Experience working directly with Aerospace & Defense companies and/or government entities 
•Alloy and/or metallurgical process development 
•Design of experiments 

Preferred Qualifications
•Structural design basis allowable generation
