What You’ll Get to Do

As an experienced IT Operator for this project, you will collaborate with the engineering team to support the development, integration, testing, fielding, administration, operations, and maintenance activities that are critical to the mission operations of the platform and ground segment.  You will configure and manage Windows and Red Hat Linux environments, which include network equipment, such as file servers, firewalls, network access, and security monitoring systems.  You will interface with the engineering team and industry partners to troubleshoot and resolve technical system issues. 

More About the Role

  • Implement and configure IT infrastructure systems, including operating systems, applications, and virtualization technologies
  • Conduct and manage network backups, including storage media
  • Manage, configure, and update Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux operating systems
  • Manage various network equipment, including file servers and firewalls
  • Maintain systems in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package at the appropriate classification level
  • Automate processing by using scripts to improve efficiencies
  • Draft and maintain documentation, including technical checklists, standard operating procedures, and end user guidance

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • US Citizen
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or 7+ years of experience with implementing and configuring IT infrastructure systems in lieu of a degree
  • Applicable DoD8140 certifications, such as Security+
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Strong knowledge of Routing Protocol Configurations, Standard Access-list, Extended Access-list configuration, OSI 7 Layer Model, IPv4 and IPv6, DNS, DHCP
  • 7 years of progressive experience in Information Technology operations roles

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in an engineering or related discipline
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • 5+ years of experience in VMware environments
  • 5+ years of experience designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting LAN, WAN and low bandwidth networks protected by network encryptors
  • 5+ years of experience with applications administration using VMWare, OpenShift, JIRA, BitBucket, Microsoft Office

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$69,100 - 141,500 USD
