JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently recruiting an experienced, high performing Margin and Profitability Manager to support Abbott’s Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) division in our Sylmar, CA, location. This position will support our Gross Margin Improvement (GMI) initiatives team. The Margin & Profitability Manager will provide leadership oversight, coordination and planning, to execute projects identified by the GMI team focusing on optimizing field inventory, reducing distressed inventory, manufacturing productivity, cost savings, and other areas opportunity identified by the GMI leadership team.  This role is also responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by the executive staff as well as presentation worthy performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working proactively with Divisional Vice President of commercial excellence and Director of Margin and Profitability to identify areas for gross margin savings

  • Proactively engaging and collaborating with cross functional teams supporting execution of identified projects by providing data and actionable insights

  • Developing flexible, comprehensive tools and templates to support reporting of Division performance against GMI savings goals

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required Qualifications:

  • BA / BS Accounting or Finance or related field; CPA or advanced education degree is preferred

  • 7+ years combined experience and education in General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis or related roles.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to operate independently with broad scope of responsibility under minimal supervision and under challenging time constraints.

  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately with all levels of the organization

  • Ability or aptitude to apply in-depth knowledge of financial processes, accounting methodologies and Division-specific operations to lead complex planning processes and to support related systems and functions.    

  • Ability to facilitate interpretation and understanding of data, identify risks, develop recommendations and implement solutions    

  • Ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; display socially and professionally appropriate behavior    

  • Ability to work independently and in groups     

  • Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, analytical skills and critical-thinking skill

  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.

  • Ability to influence cross‑functional partners and senior leadership.


 

     

The base pay for this position is

$114,000.00 – $228,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
