Position Description

We are seeking highly motivated Tax Accountant to join our Finance – Tax team in Newport Beach, CA.   Our team is responsible for the tax affairs of PIMCO’s investment advisory companies in the U.S. and around the globe.

As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for various aspects of U.S, and international tax compliance, tax research and tax accounting. The qualified candidate should be a self-starter, possess a willingness to learn new concepts, and perform well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of federal and state income tax return work-papers for domestic partnerships and C corporations

  • Preparation of federal and state withholding/composite tax calculations and returns

  • Preparation and/or review of foreign income tax return work-papers for multiple foreign entities

  • Preparation of state apportionment work-papers

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly tax provisions for various domestic and foreign corporations and partnerships

  • Preparation of tax basis balance sheet

  • Preparation of U.S. information returns related to foreign operations

  • Review federal, state and foreign income tax returns and foreign indirect tax returns

  • Analyze and prepare book / tax differences for domestic and foreign tax returns

  • Perform tax research

  • Assist with handling of tax notices and audits

Position Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university

  • Minimum of two years’ general tax experience or a minimum of 1 year of public accounting experience 

  • Proficient in use of Excel and Word

  • Self-starter, flexible, collaborative team member 

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, technical and non-technical)

  • Accounting, analytical, organizational and multitasking skills are essential

  • Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal colleagues and/or external contacts

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA license

  • Public Accounting experience preferred

  • Data analytics experience (Alteryx, Python, etc.) preferred

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.


Hourly Rate Range: $ 28.84 - $ 36.05
