The desired location for this position is Plainfield, IN however this position can be located at any Duke Energy location in Indiana that has vacancy. The exact location will be determined at the time of offer based on business needs.
This supervisory position oversees represented staff in facility operations and maintenance, ensuring a productive and motivated workforce while managing contract resources for repair and maintenance activities. The role requires continuous operational support with on-call availability to respond to emergency situations outside standard business hours and includes tracking work orders to ensure SLA compliance across all assigned facilities.
The supervisor manages all work at mission-critical sites including telecommunications facilities, substations, operation centers, regional headquarters, control centers, and call centers. Key responsibilities include enforcing standard operating procedures and safety regulations, ensuring annual training completion, conducting regular safety observations, and maintaining facility compliance with all applicable building, safety, and environmental codes.
The position collaborates in developing Facilities budgets and assumes primary responsibility for operational budget control within assigned territories, including oversight of employee overtime and expense management. Additionally, the role performs facility audits and inspections, engages site representatives to evaluate service effectiveness and satisfaction, and identifies pipeline projects to maintain infrastructure reliability.
Employee Supervision: Oversee assigned represented staff in facility operations and maintenance within service area while maintaining a productive and motivated staff
Contract Management: Manage contract resources for repair and maintenance activities
On-Call Availability: Provide continuous operational support and maintain readiness to respond to emergency situations outside of standard business hours
Service Level Monitoring: Track work orders to ensure SLA compliance
Mission Critical Oversight: Manage all work at critical sites (telecommunications, substations, operation centers, regional headquarters, control centers, call centers)
Safety & Compliance: Enforce standard operating procedures and safety regulation compliance, ensure completion of annual training requirements, and perform regular safety observations to confirm employees are following safe work practices
Code Compliance: Ensure facilities meet all applicable building and safety codes and environmental compliance
Budget Management: Collaborate in developing Facilities budgets and assume primary responsibility for operational budget control within assigned territories, including oversight of employee overtime and expense management
Site Assessment & Planning: Perform facility audits and inspections, engage with site representatives to evaluate service effectiveness and satisfaction, and identify pipeline projects to maintain infrastructure reliability
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
High School/GED with a minimum Require of 10 years of related work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with Building Automation Systems
Associate’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or related professional certifications
Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements in the energy sector, including OSHA standards, NFPA codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), and applicable environmental regulations
Onsite mobility classification – work will be performed at a company facility
Office and warehouse / plant environment with frequent travel to and between assigned operating facilities
Available for emergency and outage support on 24/7 basis
Position requires performing tasks that include climbing ladders, working across varied terrain, and operating in outdoor environments with exposure to temperature extremes
