The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Working with Operations Manager to determine priorities, timetables and assign resources/tasks while supporting continuous improvement projects and activities in EHS, productivity, and quality.
  • Creating a positive, safety first culture within the DC.
  • Determining desired employee staffing levels; initiate and approve requisitions; interview, select candidates for employment; develop or direct development of personnel, personnel standards and objectives; direct, initiate, review and approve employee appraisals, discipline, transfers, promotions and other personnel actions.
  • Providing coaching, development and supervision of production supervisors.
  • Position reports to the Campus Director.

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Seven (7) years of experience in Distribution, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • 10 years of supervisory and/or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact on a broad basis (external/internal customers, employees, and plant leadership)
  • Influence skills to support positive change acceptance within the work team
  • Experience with 3M manufacturing production reporting systems
  • Experience leading and/or participating on Six Sigma projects or Lean Manufacturing activities
  • Diverse experience with 3M manufacturing technology or operations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact on a broad basis (external/internal customers, employees and plant leadership)

Work location:

  • On-site, DeKalb Il, 1250 Macom Drive, DeKalb Illinois
  • (3rd shift)

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
